Dram Upgrade
a question about DRAM specifications?
i want to upgrade my laptop RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB. However, i have also heard that certain specifications must be satisfied. My current RAM is 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555. Can anyone tell me what these numbers represent and what specs must be the same for RAM upgrades?
Your RAM type is DDR2 667MHz, as mentioned on the PC2-5300S (”S” stands for SO-DIMM or [Small Outline - Dual In-line Memory Module], which means a smaller alternative of the usual DIMM RAMs and is used for mostly laptops).
You can buy a more higher clock such as 800MHz or 1066MHz, as long as it is DDR2 SO-DIMM type.
